9:16 DunedinNZ, Sea Lion Yawning.MOV

This serene, close-up video captures a sea lion in a beautifully backlit setting, likely during the golden hour of sunrise or sunset.

The animal's head is tilted upward as it begins a wide, slow yawn. The intense light from behind creates a striking rim-light effect, making every detail stand out: the long, individual whiskers glow brilliantly, and a fine mist of vapor from its breath is clearly visible, illuminated by the warm sunbeams. As the sea lion opens its mouth fully, the light catches the moisture inside and the fine hairs on its muzzle. The video concludes as it slowly closes its mouth and adjusts its head, all against a soft, out-of-focus background that enhances the peaceful and majestic mood of the scene.
